The most popular courses we offer are as follows:

Basic Keelboat Sailing Standard (#101)
Pre-requisites: None

Upon successful completion, student/sailors must sail a boat of about 35 feet (10.6 m) or more in length in light to moderate winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision. Successful candidates earn a National Safe Boating Certificate approved by NASBLA and the U.S. & Greek Coast Guards.

Basic Coastal Cruising Standard (#103)
Pre-requisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification

Sailors must demonstrate that they can cruise safely in local and regional waters on an auxiliary powered sailing yacht of about 35 to 50 foot (10.6 - 15.2 m) in length, in moderate winds and sea conditions.

As a practice/policy of our sailing academy, we offer and teach both of the above courses simultaneously.

Intermediate Coastal Cruising/Bareboat Chartering Standard (#104)
Pre-requisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing and Basic Coastal Cruising Certification

An advanced cruising standard for individuals with cruising experience. The individual can act as a skipper or crew of a 35 to 50 foot yacht sailing by day in coastal waters. The standard includes knowledge of boat systems and maintenance procedures.

If you have little or no experience, then we recommend that you start off with Course #'s 101 and 103. If you choose a week's sailing cruise instruction, these two courses are taught in 5 days, giving you a couple of days to practice your newfound skills.

Advanced Coastal Cruising (#106)
Pre-requisite: ASA certifications of #101, #103, #104 & 105 and/or RYA Competent Crew or equivalent skill level.

This course is designed to build sailing skills and develop confidence for ocean sailing. Students work out navigational problems, system problems, crew overboard recovery and night sailing in any weather. Covered during this 7 day trip is intense practical navigation. Upon successful completion, you will be able to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel about 30 to 50 feet in length.
